Overview
The Profile area is where you manage account-level preferences, plan access, usage, notifications, local data controls, and account actions.
Profile Overview
Open Profile to find:
- subscription and plan status
- integrations
- recurring commitments
- workspace management
- appearance
- language
- reminders
- notifications
- defaults
- voice and AI preferences
- privacy and data controls
- help, feedback, version, and sign out
Some Profile controls depend on platform, device permissions, plan, and billing path. For example, App Store subscription management is iOS-specific, Apple Calendar scheduling is iOS-specific, and mobile reminders or push notifications require device permissions.
Appearance, Language, Defaults, and Voice
Use Appearance to choose the app theme where available.
Use Language for supported language preferences.
Use Defaults to choose default views, such as the initial Entries view or Insights window.
Use Voice & AI for voice-related preferences, such as transcription language where supported.
Reminders
Use Reminders to configure local reminder timing.
Reminder lead time options may include:
- Off
- At due time
- 15 minutes before
- 1 hour before
- 1 day before
System notification permissions may be required for reminders to appear.
Notifications
Use Notifications to control mobile push notifications where your plan and device support them.
Notification types can include:
- stalled loops
- due soon
- overdue
- reply ready
If notifications are disabled in system settings, open device settings and allow notifications for Vortyx.
Plans and Trial
Open Plans to view your current access and available plan options.
Depending on your account state, you may see:
- trial availability
- trial active status
- trial usage
- paid plan options
- current subscription status
- manage subscription
- view usage
Use the current plan screen as the source of truth for available features, limits, and billing actions.
Usage
Usage shows how much of selected feature limits has been used and how much remains.
Examples of tracked usage can include voice minutes, email analysis, Slack analysis, draft assistance, automatic email checks, workspace limits, and connected account limits.
Usage availability and reset timing depend on the metric and plan. If usage information is temporarily unavailable, refresh later or check the current Plans screen before assuming your access has changed.
Manage Subscription
Use Manage subscription to review, cancel, or change plans through the store or billing path used for your account.
If you purchased through the App Store, subscription management happens through Apple's subscription flow. If you purchased through another path, follow the billing flow shown in the app.
Clear Local Cache
Use Clear local cache when local captured entries or cached app data need to be cleared from the device.
This is different from deleting server-side workspace records, actions, or connected-source history.
Delete Account
Use Delete account only when you intend to close the Vortyx account.
The delete flow may require confirmation text. Account deletion can disable sign-in, disconnect integrations, stop background processing, and start deletion of account data according to the current product and policy.
If you own a workspace with active members or pending invites, Vortyx may ask you to resolve workspace ownership or membership issues before deleting the account.
If you have an active store subscription, manage or cancel it through the store billing flow separately where required.
Best Practices
- Check usage before assuming a feature is broken.
- Keep notification permissions enabled if you rely on reminders.
- Use current Plans for up-to-date plan details.
- Clear local cache only when you understand it affects local app data.
- Delete account only when you intend to leave Vortyx permanently.
FAQ
Where do I see my plan?
Open Profile → Plans.
Why did a feature show an upgrade prompt?
Some features depend on your plan, trial state, or usage limit. Open Plans or Usage for the current account state.
Are reminders and push notifications the same thing?
No. Reminders control when a due Action should alert you on the device. Notification settings control which broader Vortyx updates may be sent as push notifications.
Does clearing local cache delete my account?
No. Clearing local cache affects local device data. Account deletion is a separate action.
